Why We’ve Partnered with SparkPath

Through our partnership with SparkPath, students will have access to a tool that invites them to explore real-world challenges tied to different industries and roles (the Challenge Cards). The focus is less on job titles and more on the kinds of problems they’re interested in solving.

By inviting students to review the Challenge Cards ahead of the event, we hope that they will have richer conversations with you. They may be curious about the types of challenges your team is tackling, how you approach problem-solving, what excites you about your work, and the values that guide your organization.

Sample Conversation Starters with Students

Sometimes students are not sure what to talk about at a networking event. If you want to steer the conversation away from job openings, you can try asking students one of these questions:

  1. Why are you interested in this challenge? How does it connect with your studies or experience?

  2. Do you have an idea of how you may get started working on this challenge? Do you want to hear how I ended up in this area?

  3. What questions do you have about the types of skills or knowledge needed to work in this area?

We have included all the cards below. Feel free to review and use during the event. If you let us know before the event, we can add the image of a Challenge Card at your campus booth. This way, students who are also interested in using this skill or solving this challenge will know to come speak with you.
