Magnet’s goal is to help make your job search informed and help you prepare for changes in the way Canadians work and get hired.

• Use Magnet to search for opportunities across different job boards, including Canada Job Bank and the Wavemakers exclusive Job board. .

• Complete career assessment tools to match your skills to different career paths.

• Receive customized news updates on job trends, training opportunities, and career support programs.

• Connect with training providers, industry associations, and community organizations offering training and learning resources.

Create your Profile

Magnet connects you to a network of employers, community organizations, industry leaders, and educators. Creating a complete profile helps you to get matched to opportunities. Fill out the Work and Education portions of your profile along with your Job Preferences to ensure you are matched to jobs that meet your current career goals.

Add certifications (Like the ones you’ll be receiving from Wavemakers!) to your profile as well to share with potential employers.

Fill out the Diversity Self Declaration in the Profile section, used by some employers to reach out specifically to potential candidates in disadvantaged groups. Employers will search for self-declared candidates in order to promote diversity within their organizations: they do that because it creates a more innovative and inclusive workplace, which ultimately leads to better outcomes for all involved.

Self-declared statuses are also used to provide you with targeted content and resources. Information about your declaration is not shared with the senders of that content.

Your self-declarations will be visible only when you apply for positions that request applicants from a Diversity Target Group that you identify with (and in each case you will be asked for your consent to disclose). Your self-declarations will not be disclosed to employers when you are applying to jobs that are not marked as Diversity Target Postings. Your self-declarations will be stored only in your account and will not appear on your profile.
